Why decades, not quarters — five weeks on

Hi again ^^

It’s been about five weeks since I last wrote here. I wanted to put down not just what got built — but why I’m still setting one brick on the next while the contributor count is zero and the visitor count is small.

The honest answer hasn’t changed: this isn’t about me, and it isn’t about this quarter. I’m building something meant to still be useful in decades — not next cycle, not next year. That’s a strange thing to optimize for on an internet full of things built to be loud today and gone by Friday. It’s also the only thing worth holding a domain nine years for.

What got laid since the last update:

The swap page — the surface that helps you actually get Bitcoin — got rebuilt from the ground up. It compares eight non-custodial providers live, side by side, and now it also compares the fiat on-ramps (card and bank) right below, because “where do I buy” and “what will it really cost” shouldn’t be a guessing game. As of today, you set how often it refreshes, and it speaks sats first — the native unit, the honest default.

Quieter, but it matters to me: the whole education library is now legible to AI assistants — every page. So when someone asks Claude or ChatGPT about Bitcoin, the answer can pull from a source that isn’t trying to sell them anything. Nobody sees that brick. It’s exactly the kind I like laying.

And here’s the loop under all of it, which I want to name plainly. This is built as a small circular economy, pointed back at the people it serves. I reach out to every provider, on-ramp and affiliate program I can — not to find who pays me most, but to surface the best deal for you. Where I earn a cut, I disclose it; where the route is cleaner without me, I tell you to skip it. Then a fixed share — 21% of net profits — goes straight back into free Bitcoin education. You get the best deal. The project takes a small honest cut. That cut pays to teach the next person, who arrives and gets the best deal too. The better it works for you, the more education it funds. Round and round, not extracted out.

Every one of those changes is logged in the open — date, scope, reasoning — on the Building-in-Public page. Still zero IP logging, no analytics beacons, no cookies. Same as day one. Audit me.

Here’s the part I keep coming back to. None of this is leveraged on whether sats come in. I said it at the start and I’ll say it again: if support arrives, I build full-time with a longer runway; if it doesn’t, I build full-time anyway. The work doesn’t depend on the fundraiser — the fundraiser just buys a little more room to go deeper.

So if this resonates, the most useful thing you can do isn’t send sats. It’s spreading the word — telling one person what YouBuyBitcoin.com actually does. The more people who know it’s here, the more it can help. And word of mouth only travels if the thing is genuinely useful — so usefulness comes first, always, before growth, before anything else. Build it useful enough, and the word carries itself. Point one human who saved $50 or $500 toward a place that tells them the truth and doesn’t take a cut of what they do next.

foollow us on Tweeter / X, I am daily active there, help spread the word.

That’s the whole thing. Brick by brick, well-placed bricks. Still loving the build.
