By March of this year, other outlets had noted that OpenAI was pivoting away from a sprawl of standalone tools – such as its video generator Sora – in favor of a single, more coherent flagship experience.

The ‘super app’ vision

On June 7, new reporting underscored that OpenAI “is still working on that ‘super app’,” confirming plans to roll out a revamped ChatGPT in the coming weeks.
