Nenad Lalatović to Leave Novi Pazar Coaching Position

Nenad Lalatović to Leave Novi Pazar Coaching Position Coach Nenad Lalatović’s push for a bigger budget has collided head‑on with Novi Pazar’s financial limits, and the result is a parting of ways just as the season ends.

The tension built through the spring as Lalatović, who took over Novi Pazar and steered the team into the Serbian SuperLiga playoffs with a record of five wins, six losses and three draws, began openly tying his future to stronger investment. One of his key conditions for staying was a “povećanje budžeta za dovođenje igrača” – an increased budget to bring in reinforcements he considered essential for the club to make a real leap next season.

By late May, indicators were still that he might remain, especially after the team’s “veoma dobre rezultate” under his leadership, even if they fell short of qualifying for European competitions. Club management was reportedly ready to keep faith with him for another campaign, but only within a spending framework they deemed sustainable.

The decisive moment came this week in a meeting between Lalatović and club officials. According to pro‑government sports outlets, the two sides “nisu mogle da se dogovore oko finansijskih detalja” – they simply could not agree on the financial terms. Another report framed it bluntly: “No agreement: Lalatović leaves Pazar.”

From Lalatović’s perspective, without a serious budget boost there was little point in staying; he has already indicated he has other offers and “neće imati problem da pronađe novi posao.” From the club’s side, the priority now is to secure a new head coach, with Lalatović’s final match on the bench set for the weekend trip to Vojvodina in Novi Sad.

The breakup, then, is less a shock than a calculation: an ambitious coach versus a cautious balance sheet – and a playoff team suddenly back on the market for a new project.
