Findability Up Front and Builders Betting on the Agentic Web

@asgarth ran PeakD discovery and SEO experiments that topped the week’s rewards at 339 Hive Power (HP), @hivewatchers flagged an SEO spam botnet hijacking Ecency accounts, and the C/HiveDevs feed filled with agentic-web tooling from @asgarth and @hivepostify.

This is HiveToday, a weekly recap of the Hive blockchain ecosystem.

New here? Hive uses delegated proof-of-stake. You elect witnesses to produce blocks. You can post, vote, and play games without paying gas on every click. The chain has been live since March 2020.

This Week on Hive

@asgarth ran the week’s biggest story on PeakD: discovery tests, SEO work, and small UX fixes that topped the reward board at 339 HP, 551 votes, and 34 comments. PeakD is one of Hive’s main frontends, so when it changes how posts show up in search, the whole network feels it. A second PeakD post covered governance tweaks, a cleaner signup flow, and better stats. Both point the same way: make Hive content easier to find.

The same week, @hivewatchers warned about an SEO spam botnet hitting Ecency logins. Its May report logged 125 abuse cases. One team optimizes discovery; another chases bots. Hive still grows through frontends users trust, and those frontends need fast abuse response when spammers automate around them.

C/HiveDevs kept leaning into AI-ready tooling. @asgarth wrote about the agentic web on Hive. @hivepostify added llms.txt so automated tools can read the site more easily. That sits alongside the usual @sagarkothari88 HiveSuite and HiveReactKit update threads.

More HIVE moved into Hive Power than out: about 586,000 powered up against 500,000 powered down, a modest net gain after June’s Hive Power Up Day. @risingstargame still drew heavy comments at 254 HP, a brief callback from issue #84.

On the market side, @thecrazygm recapped another sharp Upbit-driven move. HIVE traded near $0.05 by week’s end, down about 7% over 24 hours. HBD print rate is still zero (issue #75).

Development Pulse

Most core work this week was behind the scenes: safer database upgrades, node fixes, and video pipeline repairs.

HAF indexers: Several Hive Application Framework (HAF) apps merged lock steps so installers and block replay tools do not clash. That touched balance tracking, reputation tracking, NFT tracking, the block explorer, and hivemind sync.

Core node (hived): The hive/hive repo fixed recurrent transfer bugs and added guards ahead of the next hard fork. Witnesses still run Hard Fork 28 (mostly v1.28.3; @good-karma on v1.28.6). Hard Fork 29 is still prep code, not live on mainnet.

hive.blog: hive/denser fixed content-security rules, updated CI, and added tests for search and notifications.

3Speak: Encoder, upload, embed, and TV repos merged fixes for stalled uploads, bloated IPFS files, bad audio tracks, and embed view counts.

Wax and Keychain: The Wax SDK got cleaner error handling. Hive Keychain added better language support in the browser extension.

Project Spotlights

PeakD: @asgarth governance and signup cleanup (discovery/SEO lead story above).

Ecency: @ecency shipped Ecency Web with faster reading, easier publishing, and a more rewarding flow.

Account Health: @friendlymoose added saved preferences and Keychain login to the Account Health Dashboard (follow-up to issue #84).

HivePostify: @hivepostify added llms.txt for AI tools.

Magi: @magi.network turned on the Incentive Pendulum on mainnet.

Mithril / HiveTools: @open.mithril shipped an SDK layer for builders. @thecrazygm needs one tester for NectarPay.

Onboarding: @danielvehe and @rutablockchain launched Hive Intro to find welcome posts.

HiveSuite / HiveReactKit: @sagarkothari88 improved wallets and WorldMapPin links.

HivePulse: @behiver added growth charts. @igormuba previewed QUOIN, a desktop HIVE/HBD trader.

Games: @risingstargame reset thread still gets comments (see issue #84). @nexo0702 shared Splinterlands tips. @wrestorgonline expanded WOO land perks.

Keychain: @keychain explained its latest DHF funding ask.

Network Stats

Metric This week
HIVE price $0.0502
HIVE market cap ~$27.6M
HBD trading price ~$0.83
HBD trading market cap ~$27.4M
CoinGecko rank #656
24h change (HIVE) -6.89%
HBD print rate 0 (no new HBD minting)
HIVE powered up (7d) 586,472 HIVE
HIVE powered down (7d) 499,666 HIVE
Net stake change +86,806 HIVE

HBD explained: HBD is Hive’s dollar token. When the chain holds too much HBD debt, it stops making new HBD. Print rate 0 means that pause is active. Exchange prices can differ from the chain’s internal math. Full explainer: issue #75.

Powering up: More HIVE was staked than unstaked this week. @planetoceana led with about 201,000 HIVE. @solominer and @demotruk followed. @hivebuzz posted June Power Up Day feedback.
